The Way It Is

This is a poem about the condition of our nation.

 Why do we fight this foolish war

It will always be the rich against

the poor

That is the way of capitalism

Who's to admit defeat

When our veterans sleep on the

streets

That is the way it is

Our fascist health care regime

Must have been a third reich scheme

If you can't pay off those hefty fines

You mise will give up and die

You're worth the money you make

That is the way it is

If you are the wrong gender, religion,

skin type, or the like

you mise will just take a hike

Our society is based on greed

None of our ideas are free

Just lock me up and throw away the key

That is the way it is
