Chapter Ten- Change in LifeA Chapter by The Doctor
19 September 2010
I sit behind my desk, thinking of any possible way of coping with this. "You know there isn't. You're just going to have to deal with me as is." I look up. "Shut up." Do I continue to kill and take the wretched off the streets...or do I stop altogether.... "No. That's stupid. You know you're going to drive yourself nuts wanting to kill. Chewing your nails off every night. I could even see you possibly hanging yourself," he chuckled. I scowl at him, turning back to my hands. Again, I guess I'm going to have to adapt. I sit up and lean back into my chair, holding Edward's dark gaze. Looking there made me hate myself, find complete disgust with who I am, who've I become. This makes him smile widely with victory. That Night Sitting on the couch, I watch Dexter. It's a wonderful TV series off Show Time about a serial killer who kills like I do. It highly assumes me. I get tired of sitting on the couch and decide to get dressed again and go out to a local night club. Needing something different. "So a night club is what you came up with?" "First thing on my mind besides killing. Maybe I'll meet a girl an get laid. Though I don't think I could handle you looking at us the whole damn time." Edward laughs to himself at the thought. I get into a pair of khakis, white dress shirt and a black blazer. After tying my black suede shoes I put my wallet and keys into my pocket as I make my way downstairs and out to the car. I drive around in search of possible club entrances. My luck brings me to an abandon warehouse. Colorful strobe lights flashing about in the windows. "You sure this is a good idea?" "I'm tired of listening and consorting with you. I'm going to go inside, drink and maybe do some light drugs, and hopefully if I'm not too fucked up, I'm bringing a girl home to f**k. If you have a problem with it than watch me and scowl, but I'm going to ignore you and have some fun." I take the money from my wallet and put it into my pocket, the wallet is tossed into the glove box with my keys. I keep a spare one in a cubby I put in the bottom of my shoe if anything should go wrong. Getting out I lock the doors and walk inside, not caring what i may or may not expect. The doors open and music fills my ear, immediately attacking my ear drums with notes and noise. My eyes tried to focus in the dark and flashing scene with people dancing in and out of the beams of light. A visible atmosphere of smoke hung over the wiggling crowd. Just floating with out care of what was happening beneath it. The smell of pot and cigarettes fill my nostrils and lungs, causing small coughs to escape. This is no place for a killer. No place at all. "I told you." "Shut up." I go to the bar counter and order a coke and rum on the rocks. He fills it the fifth of the way, I hand it back and ask for half filled. He gives me a surprised look but fulfills my request. I take a sip and look out into the horde of people. All the possible victims mingling, sweaty bodies touching and sliding together in an ecstasy of hormones and drugs. Not caring about what is going on but in the present. Maybe I'll get that drunk. A women bumps into me and hands me a blunt with smoking rising from it's tip. "Hold that," she said as she dug into her purse, looking for her cash to buy a drink. "Really think you need more?" I shout back to her. "No. But I want another." She hands the bartender his money and turns back to me, taking back her weed. Before leaving she checks me out from head to toe, not hiding the movement of her head and eyes.
"Maybe I'll see you later cutie." She smiles and walks off into the horde of people. I take another sip and watch her leave, staring at her features. Moving up from her legs to her exposed, smooth back. Placing my hands on her back, lips interlocked....i really need to get laid. I follow her through the crowd; she goes to a table where a bunch of her female friends are sitting. No other males. No ring. Perfect. Before she sits down I place my hand on her upper arm and whisper into her ear. "I'm not one for letting opportunities go. So would you like to get out of here and do something other than bake and drink your mind into oblivion?" She turns and looks into my eyes, she smiles and talks to her friend for a second. Then she links arms,"Well than let's go big boy." I smile back at her and toss the rest of my drink down my throat. On our way out I drop the glass off and bring her to my car. I open the door and she turns to me, she grabs my collar, pulling me into a kiss. Her mouth tasting like pot and Jack Daniels. She reluctantly releases my lips and sits in the passenger seat. I close the door and smile to myself. "You're proud of yourself aren't you?" "Yes I am. Because it's reckless and fun. I'm not telling everyone what I am, I'm enjoying the fruits of life as they come." I get into the driver seat and go to my apartment. She follows me inside, already unzipping her dress. She looks around with a high smile,"Nice place. Now where is the bedroom?" Her eyes half open and she walks over to me. I take her hand and bring her into my room, she pushes me to sit on the bed and straddles my legs, sliding forward. She takes me blazer and puts her lips to mine as she opens my shirt. "Good bye Edward." 20 September 2010 "Wake up. She's gone already." "Yeah I know. I heard her leave this morning." "You trust people like that?" "She's a rich snob. She watches the men she screws. I mean look at her friends, the pretty much were wearing money. She wouldn't disgrace her family like that." I get up for my work out routine and shower. Dress into a suit and prepare to go to the hospital. My cell rings and it's John. "Hey John. How's it going?" "Not well since the glove fragment was stolen." "Understandable. How's it with the mob?" "They stopped following me a few days ago." "Good. What you need?" I grab my keys and lock the door. "Nothing really. Wondering how you are. You've been pretty silent lately." So you think. "Yeah. A lot at work is all. Need any more help?" "Yes I do actually. Later tonight?" "Sure. You cook and I'll bring the booze." "Alright." "Later." I hang up and get into my car. I could use another kill. Would feel good to release some emotions. Makes me smile to see the possible fear on a victim again.Love a good kill. "So pathetic the way you embrace your hunger." "You caused it." I back out of the parking garage and hit the Starbucks on the way. Walking in I head to the counter and look up to see her, Amber(Indicated by her name tag). She makes eye contact and smiles. It's a small world after all. © 2011 The Doctor |
