Forever is over

Forever is over

A Poem by alwaysmovefast

At one point, we worked. We worked so well. We laughed, we played, we adored. Everything fell into place. The world became our playground and the people became our dolls. No one could possibly ruin our days because our days were solid. We were whole. We kept eachother anchored and full. It seemed as if God had given us his hidden stash of happiness. It was intoxicating. Infiltrating our pores, seeping into our veins and gaining control of our minds our souls our hearts. Rushing with our blood and connecting us to eachother. Our touches had become electric. Our lips excited with sparks that could cause a raging fire. We were love drunk.

And then that fatal day arrived.

We dressed in black and held our heads low. The rain showered us with grief. We had fallen apart. We soon became liquid and evaporated into thin air. Suddenly the fires we creates were burning us whole. Our ashes became dust and caused us to choke on our words. We became unexpected tears, salty to the taste and burning to the skin. We awoke sober and with a hangover from hell.
