Saving You

Saving You

A Poem by alwaysmovefast

Do you see me? No, open your eyes, tell me, do you see me?
I see everything that runs through you
and if this isn't everything, then this a drive in flick I'm watching
with all the previews we'll never go out and see together.
Laying here, looking into those blue daggers that pierce too far deep into my own soul
Overwhelmed with needs to make a good first impression
every, single, time.

Difference, transitional efforts I could make just to please you.
I was wondering if you could stay the night, just so we could gather our thoughts together
Just so we could see the things we'd never dare to dream of
Apprehensive when it comes to your smile
Chills run down my spine and I swear I saw something phenomenal.
I wonder if you'll see what I've seen time and time again
because happiness is the art and you are the painter who has yet to see the vision
Help me be your sight.
Let me open your eyes so that everything that blinds you will become as clear as this night

I've seen the sadness in you, no matter how quick you are to cover it in pixels and faux smiles.
The smiles are forced and the tears are involuntary, the dreams are thought of and the motivation has deceased.
I watch and I wonder what beauty
But what extraordinary beauty would it be to form the most simple and candid observation of bliss appear on a face like yours
To be held accountable for elation within those drowning eyes from which nothing could liberate you
I hold out my hand, awaiting and speculating the very thought,
I could save you but would you let me?
