The Finish LineA Poem by alwaysmovefast
The best of everything is never a true statement.
You could become one thing and strive for another but the feeling of solitary can only do so much. We strive for the things that are far beyond the stars. That is what we call hope. It is what we believe in when the verge of insanity becomes too much Forget your most hurtful moments and replace them with the sense of enjoyment because happiness is everything and without it, you are left in the dark, cold center of absolutely nothing. I have that sense where I know that my smiles are somewhere near, equivalent to Pandora's box but containing the opposite of all its assesments. I know where I belong and that place is neither near nor far. It is in the place where I have been before but have forgotten. Change. That is my salvation. Transition to start new to end with novelty. A different me is called for. I must attend the meeting and pay my dues. It is what I owe to all but myself. We fight to remember that we are still alive in a place where it lacks definition. We are our own meanings. We make of what we can and live. Some may be lies, but the truth can never exist. There is no integrity here; Only the race to the ending because we are all reaching for this finish line. From the gunshot pushing to us to go to the waving white and black checkered flag. Our journey is in our legs and how fast we decided to run. Some may walk but those are the procrastinators. They want but they won't. They say they can but they can't And they are left behind without a single thought. Then there are some who run faster than the wind because they seek a win but the knowledge they had forgotten to remember was that no one wins because we all lose only to try again. But for me, I am moderate. because the journey that we race for is only for one moment My moment has not yet finished until I begin to control my breathing And await for what is ahead of me.
