Silent Amour

Silent Amour

A Poem by Lewis Tedesco

The sun has gone down again on this day…we lay quietly in the bed and say nothing…but that’s okay.  We do not need to say anything to make it known that we love each other.  Inside the walls of this bedroom, nothing else matters.  Society and their views have no power here, the news and media have no control here, and we can lie here in each others arms quietly and just love.   Brush the hair on your forehead and feel you smile.  That is the love that we have.  There is no need to see expressions because we know what we are doing.  I hold you tighter as the night descents darker upon the window outside and I know that it is alright.  The boogie man, the evils, the monster under my bed can not hurt me if I have you next to me, and I know that it is alright.  I know in this instant that everything is alright.  I know that out of the entire world, we found each other and that is all that matters now.  I can feel your heart beat…I can smell your scent; it is familiar to me now.  I have loved you in and out of time before, and it has never changed and I feel that it never will change.  I am okay with that.  I am okay with knowing that you are the one who has broken down the biggest of the walls that have been put up for so long; I am okay with showing myself you to, vulnerable and naked and not having any reservations about it, no fear, no shame, no guilt, because I can be myself with you. It doesn’t matter what others think, because we know the true meaning of love.

I always tell people "Love is love"
It's just a feeling, we can't classify it or guess it!
It's just like faith, it's a feeling that is there.
It takes belief to believe that something that strong can save us.
Love may not be able to move any mountains but we sure can try.
