Sleep of Adonis

Sleep of Adonis

A Poem by Lewis Tedesco
"

I wrote this one morning when I woke up and looked to see my lover still asleep with the sunlight beaming in on him.

"

The sun shone bright that morning. He woke to a very pleasant remembrance of the previous night. Such passion, such love, God-no one has ever made him feel this way before now. He looked over at his lover, fair-skinned and blue eyed. Just looking at this beautiful body laying in his bed, the body which seems to have been hand carved by a higher power to perfectly fit into each other, made all the difference. Perhaps, the days weren’t so bad that there was someone to share his life with now. Ever so quietly, as not to disturb the slumber of Adonis, he knelt beside the bed to give honor and gratitude to his Father for the Demi-god that showed him the stars and whispered to him the secrets of the universe…all in one night of perfection.
