Jaded

Jaded

A Poem by Rose
"

a poem about heartbreak, romanticization, and a twinkle of hope

"
Alas, two weeks has passed
yet it feels like just yesterday
My heart you cached

I wonder in two months if I will feel just as abandoned
I know in two years I'll have thrown the thought away
Just as I demanded

Quite the pair are we
Beautiful once
Now extremely ugly
Not lovely like I planned
A vision of you
It was worth a million grand

I was jaded in my own way
Nowhere to visit, nowhere to stay
I let the vision of you turn me gray
The one that would take me away
Nowhere to run, nowhere to play

The vision I had of you had faded
Taken over by someone else and entirely eradicated
Again I am completely disturbed, infatuated
Not with you
It's something new
It's me, tending to the tree

You described heartbreak so well in this. I think there's always a little candle still glowing inside at the end of a relationship you thought would last forever.

Tending to the tree? Not sure I got that.

Great writing. :)
