The Cycle

The Cycle

A Poem by startingover13
"

A poem that parallel's nature to life.

"
Like children leaving there parents as they age,
The voice of the wind carries them, guides them,
Into the unknown and new beginning,
The children speak unto themselves,
Laugh in the face of triumph and error,
Knowing that they have much to learn to survive,
Planting themselves within the living earth,
Its calming love encircles them as the cycle begins again.

I very much enjoyed this poem. The cycle/circle of life is a fairly common theme, but I did like how you used children as your main focus (writers generally choose death as the easier theme to emotionally affect the reader). Don't confuse your "their/there/they're"s. It should be "Like children leaving their parents as they age,". Otherwise, good job. :)

this speaks to me. for some reason it just resonates with me. odd, cause i'm not a big poetry fan. but i guess the fact that i like this is a sort of compliment.
