What terrifies me the most 

is the way that you carry shame. 

It wraps itself about your neck, 

it’s legs wound around your hips 

as it whispers abuse 

a mere hair's breadth away 

from your lips.

It clings to you tightly 

with it's weight bearing down 

upon your every thought.
