On Fairytales and Wolves

As little girls we are told to be sweet with a gentle touch.

Our fairytales warn us of monsters,

but never tell us that we can be fearsome as sin. 

I suppose it's too horrifying to think

that little red riding hood 

knew exactly what she was doing

when she invited the wolf in.
