WaitingA Poem by Julie Murphy, Julie Desin & Julie Stoddard
I waited in the garden for you
The whole day spent gazing Picking petals from flawed flowers The way I pick insecurities From my soul A bee came by to visit me Whispering things in flutters That I already knew about me and you If I could just touch you maybe Silence could be heard So I waited for you among the thorns And you never came along But I still plucked at the petals The way I pluck at these fears In my timid spirit And a bird came by to sing Chanting at me in tongues That speak what I don’t understand If I could just touch you maybe Blindness could see again © 2008 Julie Murphy, Julie Desin & Julie Stoddard |
