You Thought

You Thought

A Poem by Julie Murphy, Julie Desin & Julie Stoddard

So you thought you could hold

A whirlwind in your hands

That you would be so bold

To try to trap me in bands

Of jealousy and greed

As if by your angry words

You thought you’d succeed

But words are only words

Not daggers thrown at a soul

If you thought a you knew me

You were wrong, I am whole

I need not men for me to be

The holders of my life

I am strong and I am free

So keep to yourself that strife

I know what I am and who

Not a contradiction of terms

But one more powerful than you

That I still survive affirms

More than you will ever know

‘Cause you are still a little boy

Trying to make a big show

Of stealing others hope and joy.

Life has been crazy for a very long time, but for now I have some time and will be trying to add more of my writing. I'll slowly be restoring them from my own back ups, though it may take some time. .. more..
