Chapter SevenA Chapter by SammieWhen the sun came up, I got out of bed and showered, locking my door every time I left my room and taking the key with me everywhere I went. I tried to take a quick shower in case Daniel woke up, but I didn't want to get out. The water was warm and I didn't have to think about anything. After I finally got out, I brushed through my hair and brushed my teeth. By the time I had gone in my room to get clothes, which I had forgotten in the midst of my shock, my shower felt years away. I wanted to take another one, but my mom would be suspicious. Daniel's eyes were close, but his breathing wasn't as even as it was when he was actually asleep. I knew he was faking, but I didn't mention anything. I just went about my business and went downstairs for breakfast, locking the door as I left. "You're up early," My mom said when I sat on a bar stool at the counter. She was making omelets. "I wasn't very tired," I shrugged. That was a complete lie. I was very tired last night. I just didn't sleep. "You've got some light circles under your eyes. Go cover that up with the make-up I bought you." I slid of the bar stool and went back up to my room and put on the make-up to cover the circles. I hadn't noticed them before, but now they stood out. It was "Sorry I…woke you. You can sleep more if you want," I suggested. He looked tired, too. He must've woken up early. "No thanks. I should go home. My dad will be looking for me. Or at least wondering where I am." "You really have to go?" I was disappointed. I liked having him at my house, even if I wasn't in the same room as him. "Probably. My dad will freak out and call the police if I don't get home soon. I'll see you around." Daniel made his way toward my window, but we both stopped. "It's light out…people will see you and tell my mom. You can't go out the front either. She'll see you." "Can I call my dad then? I'll just tell him I'm at a friends' place." Daniel didn't leave until Monday morning when he had to go home and get ready for school. He had showered whenever my mom left the house and I brought him food three times a day. He told me to only bring food once a day, but I brought it three times and he ate it all every time. I was starting to never want him to leave. It was selfish, yes, considering his current state of emotion and mind. Was it wrong, though? I don't know. The only person I am is me, so I don't know if other people think these things, too. Maybe I just think differently than everyone else. Maybe it is selfish. Who knows? I sure don't care at this point. I just want him here. © 2009 SammieReviews
