Enlightenment

Just a poem I wrote following a reflection.

My promise to you has not been forgotten,

Even though the doubt continues to linger,

I have shaken off the veil of darkness,

In pursuit of a dream of my own.

Will I be capable of seeing the world,

Through any other eyes,

Especially after the light has seared mine?

Allow me to extend my hand,

And accept it as we move forward into,

The vast unknown in nothing but unity.

For the colors of the light have returned,

To the recesses of my once-forgotten soul.

The only proof that what had been lost,

Can be renewed and restored yet again.

I am not afraid anymore.
