Writing Prompt: First Day of School BluesA Story by A Soap Mess StoriesWrite a story where your protagonist saves someone from danger.
The first day of 5th grade at JFK Elementary was the worst day………. It began as the students piled out the classroom door for recess. Her name was Sylvia and she was the prettiest girl in the 5th grade at JFK Elementary. I watched her as she played tetherball with a group of girls. Wanting to introduce myself, I boldly walked up to the group of girls. They all laughed at me and when I looked behind me, there was a piece of paper taped to my back. As I reached behind me to pull it off my back, I tripped and fell on the cement. The fall caused the girls, as well as the rest of the classmates to laugh at me. As they laughed, I was given the nickname, “Tripp” because of my fall. After the ordeal, I mustered what courage I had, and walked to the girl. She told me to get lost and never wanted to talk to me and promptly walked off…. Right into the path of an oncoming car! Quick on my feet, I dashed out to stop the girl, sending her flying to the side of the road as I instead was hit by the car. The girl, when she discovered it wasn’t her who hit looked to the street to discover to her horror that I was the one who was hit. After the girl called paramedics and I was taken to the hospital, the whole school prayed for my recovery. Two days later, I was back to school, where the students welcomed me back. © 2019 A Soap Mess Stories |
