Driving Through Idaho

Driving Through Idaho

A Poem by A Soap Mess Stories

I left Sandpoint, Idaho

The city with the 5th largest lake in the US

Lake Pend Oreille, as my journey

Began as I drove through LaClede

Priest River, Oldtown and Newport before

Arriving in the big city of Spokane

To have lunch with my ex-husband and his fiancée.

After lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, I drove through Coeur d’Alene

The city with the lake name of the city

Plummer and Worley before

Moscow,Lewiston and Orofino

To stay the night with family.

The next day, I started back on my journey

To Kamiah, Cottonwood and Grangeville,

Small farming towns.

White Bird, where you drive down a 7% steep grade

But, boy, what a view to look over the rim

Next came Riggins

A lovely view of the Salmon River

New Meadows where the time changed from

Pacific to Mountain time

McCall was next with a awesome view of the lake

And a little closer was Donnelly

Cascade

Smiths Ferry

Garden Valley

And finally, Horseshoe Bend was the home stretch

Before my journey ended in

The heart of Boise

Home of the Boise River Green Belt
