Chapter 1

Chapter 1

A Chapter by A Soap Mess Stories

“Karrie, I can’t believe we got jobs at the McIntyre House!” Kristie exclaimed.  She had always wanted to tour the mansion, and this was her chance to do so.

“Oh, Kristie, you just want to get inside that house!” Karrie accused.

“That’s not true!” Kristie defended herself, feeling hurt by Karrie’s accusation.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.  Maybe you are a little bit right.” Kristie admitted.

“Well, let’s just get dressed in our costumes.  It’s almost time to start our first job.”

As the twins got ready for their job at the McIntyre  House, Kristie’s boyfriend, Tyson Anderson, showed up.  Karrie was dressed as a possessed doll and Tyson was dressed as a stalker with a chainsaw.

“Hey, Karrie.  Kristie home?”

“Yes, but we’re getting ready for our job at the McIntyre House.”

“Kewl!” Tyson exclaimed.  “I also got a job there.”

“Oh, explains why you’re in costume?”

Kristie came out to the front porch and was ecstatic to see Tyson and gave him a kiss.  Kristie was dressed as a scary clown.

“Hey, guess what?” Tyson asked his girlfriend.

“What?”

“I also have a job at the McIntyre House.”

“Wow!  We’ll be working together!” Kristie said, kissing him.  “Maybe we can sneak off sometime?”

“Now, sweetie, we don’t get paid to make out!” Tyson told her with a gleam in his eye.  He liked the way she thought.

Kristie, Karrie and Tyson arrived at the McIntyre House ready to begin haunting the local townsfolk.  Their boss, Mr. Shingles, showed up to give them the rundown on their responsibilities.

After Mr. Shingles gave the three kids their duties, they were all set to open the McIntyre house to scare those who dared come in.

All kinds of people came to tour the haunted house and see if they could get scared.  Many were terrified as they ran out of the mansion vowing to never come back.  But others thought the haunted mansion was just stupid and wasn’t scared at all.

“How did you like the haunted house?” Karrie asked a little boy about 7.

“Wasn’t scary at all!” the boy scoffed.

“Well, come back again.  Maybe we can scare you next time.”

“Try all you want.  Nothing scares me.” The boy exclaimed before leaving the haunted mansion laughing.

It was a good night working at the haunted mansion.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves---even those who weren’t scared.
