The Moon Wants Me to Come Out to Play

The Moon Wants Me to Come Out to Play

A Poem by A Soap Mess Stories

The moon wants me to come out and play
"Come out of your house,
Get off the Internet,"
The moon says to me.

The moon wants me to come out and play
I put down my laptop
And mute my thinking
And run outside to play with the moon.

The moon wants me to come out and play
Her golden face smiles
As I run along trying to catch up to her
Laughing that I seem so far behind.

The moon wants me to come out and play
Dancing in her soft light
She smiles down on me
We become friends inseparable.

The moon wants me to come out and play
When my friend has gone away
I await for my friend to come back
To romp with my new friend again.

The moon wants me to come out and play
For now I will think about the fun times
Dancing in her soft golden light
Waiting for my friend to return.
