Chapter 8

Kendra was checking her disguise when Thomas came into their bedroom.

“Honey, what are you doing?” Thomas asked her, as he spied the costume on their bed.

“I was checking out our Halloween costumes.” Kendra lied.

“But honey, Halloween is months away.” Thomas reminded her.

“Well, I want to be prepared.” Kendra said, coming up with the excuse.

“So what exactly will we be going as?”

“You’ll find out when it’s time.” Kendra said, trying to be secretive.

“Okay, honey.  Well, I came in to tell you that I got the kids in their clothes and they are eating breakfast.”

“Thank you honey.” Kendra said, gratefully, giving him a kiss.

“Well, I’m headed off to work.” Thomas told her as he was heading out.

After Thomas left for work, Kendra tried on her disguise before heading down to finish getting the children ready for school and daycare.  Then she would head over in her disguise and talk to Brian.  

After Kendra had dropped Ciara off at the daycare center, she drove over to Brian’s apartment in her disguise to convince him to let her counsel her.

“Yes.” Brian said, when he answered his front door.

“Yes, I’m Miss Watson.  I talked to you about counseling last night?” Kendra announced.

“You!” Brian said agitated.  “I thought I told you last night I wasn’t interested!”

“You need some help!” 

“I don’t need anything from you!” Brian fumed, trying to close his door, but Kendra stuck her foot in it to prevent him from doing so.

“Please, you can’t keep on going on like this!”

“Like what?”

“Having affairs.”

“How do you know about that?”

“My friend told me.  She’s concerned about you.”

“If I come in tomorrow at 9 a.m. will that make you happy?” Brian said reluctantly.

“Yes.  I’ll see tomorrow at 9.” Kendra said happily.

Brian closed his door and went back to bed with his latest conquest, a blonde woman he picked up in a bar the night before.

Kendra went home satisfied she had managed to convince Brian to talk to her.  Now all she had to do was get him to confess to the affair with her best friend.
