Our Dance

Our Dance

A Poem by A Soap Mess Stories

It's funny how
We keep dancing
The same old dance
Round and round
We go
It's the same ole dance
You say your a changed man
You want to bury the hatchet
You want to remain friends
Yet all I have to do
Is piss you off
And it's back to
The same ole dance
You cut me off
Don't speak to me
Until you need something from me
Then it starts all over
I'm tired of this dance
The same dance
For two decades
You'd think I"d learn
Because I know you so well
You make your promises
Then somehow
Find a way
Get out of it
It's just the same ole dance
We dance
Day after day
Month after month
Year after year
We did it during the marriage
And it never ended
After the divorce
It's time it stopped
But how do I make it stop
This dance
We dance
The same ole dance

Isn't easy to stop that dance, it has a pattern of its own, sigh...
