Chapter 6: The Confession

Chapter 6: The Confession

A Chapter by A Soap Mess Stories

As Allie's date ended, she still didn't know his name, as he walked her to her front door. Allie went inside and thought about her evening with this stranger and her night at the opera. She went to sleep dreaming she was the lead act in an aria, with the stranger as her co-lead.

The next morning, Allie got up and dressed for her job at the diner. When she got there, Roxie as all ears as she expected Allie to give her the details of her “date.”

“Oh, Roxie, it was the most amazing night.” Allie gushed. “A limo ride to the opera house to watch an opera.”

“He took you to the opera?” Roxie asked. “What kind of date is that?”

“It was amazing!” Allie marveled. “I love the opera. I wanna be an opera singer someday.”

“I didn't now you could sing?” Roxie asked, with a surprised look.

“I grew up watching them. My mother would put them on when I was a little girl.”

“You actually watched them, like for hours?”

“I never wanted to hang out with the other kids. I sat at home watching operas, hoping one day to be in one.” Allie explained.

Just then, Roxie noticed the stranger come in and sit in one of Allie's booths.

“Jade (Roxie knows Allie as Jade), he's here.” Roxie says, giving Jade a nudge in the stranger's direction.

Allie/Jade walks over to the booth where her mystery man is sitting.

“Hello, sir. May I take your order?” Allie/Jade asks him.

“No, Jade. I came to talk to you.” the stranger said. “To tell you the truth about our date.”

“Our date?” Allie asked, confused. “I don't understand?”

“The truth is, I had to get to know you first before I told you.” the stranger began to explain.

“Tell me the truth?” Allie asked, more confused than ever.

“From the first moment I saw you working in this diner, I knew I had to get to know you.”

“As what? Friends? Lovers?” Allie asked.

“No, I'm sorry if I somehow misled you. I don't see you as a friend or a lover.”

“Then what do you see me as?”

“My daughter.” the stranger said, finally admitting it.

Allie just coughed. “I'm sorry, did you just say I was your daughter?”

“Yes, Jade, or may I say, Alison.” the stranger said. “I'm your father, Darin Michaels, and I've been looking for you and your mother for the last twenty years.”
