Chapter 3

Chapter 3

A Chapter by A Soap Mess Stories

As Kelly and Max danced, they only had eyes for each other. Kara was happy for them. But the night was a complete surprise for Kara. Kelsey Allen, the popular girl in school was always a rival for Kara. She did everything she could to steal Kara's boyfriend, Tim Hanson. Kara saw the two of them dancing on the floor, and to the tune of Tim and Kara's song, “I Can't Fight This Feeling” by REO Speedwagon. Kara couldn't take it anymore. She ran outside to have a good cry.

Tim saw her and felt bad. If Kara knew that he was in a loveless marriage. He wanted so badly to tell Kara that Kelsey had manipulated him into marriage. He never wanted to marry her. They were married right out of high school, and for 25 years, Tim had worked extremely long hours just so he wouldn't have to come home to Kelsey. They never consummated the marriage. It was a strictly loveless marriage, and Tim wanted out. But he didn't know how to get out what with Kelsey's terms if he should ever divorce her.

Tim did manage to sneak out and take a break from Kelsey's constant clinging to his arm. When Tim walked outside, Kara was still outside, crying. He went up to her.

“Hello, Kara?” Tim asked, shyly.

“What are you doing here?” Kara shot back. “Isn't Kelsey missing your arm?”

“I needed a break from her clinginess.” Tim told her.

“You? Need a break from Kelsey?” Kara said, with a laugh. “I thought you were so happy. You two certainly looked the picture of perfection!”

“Well, that's just for show, Kara.” Tim confessed. “The truth is, I'm not happy!”

“You two have been married since we all graduated?” Kara spat out at him. “How the hell can you not be happy?”

“I've been in a loveless marriage for 25 years. We never even consummated the marriage.”

“Yeah, right! 25 years of marriage and you and Kelsey never had sex!” Kara asked, disbelieving him. “Do I look like a fool.”

“It's true, Kara. I have worked extremely long hours at my business just so I wouldn't have to look at her face!”

“Woo hoo! Poor Tim, in a loveless marriage. So you've had affairs?”

“Acutally, no. I've gone without all this time.”

“Yeah, like I believe that one?”

“I love you, Kara! I've kept myself pure all these years, hoping there was some way I could get out of this marriage so I could be with you!”

“I'm sorry, Tim, but I find it hard to believe that you have been celibate in a loveless marriage for 25 years, even forsaking other women, because you were hoping for a chance with me?” Kara asked, still not believing him.

Tim did only thing he could think of to make Kara understand his deep love for her. He pulled her close and kissed her. Kara tried to resist, but after failing, she finally gave in to Tim's kiss and kissed him back.

The two spent the rest of the night outside hiding so Kelsey wouldn't see them.

Tim knew one thing. . . he was now determined more than ever to get out of this marriage and marry Kara.
