Chapter 4 The Confrontation

Chapter 4 The Confrontation

A Chapter by A Soap Mess Stories

The stranger knew that Devin wasn't Allie's brother, but it was the only thing he could come up with on such short notice. At least until the stranger could get Devin out of Allie's life. There was no way he was letting Allie out of his life. Then it came to him...how to get rid of Devin.

Meanwhile, Allie, aka Jade, was busy at the diner waiting on two lovers who had just sat down in one of her boths. As she was taking their order, she couldn't help but think of Devin. God, she missed him. She wished she could see him, but she had to stay missing. She couldn't let Devin know her secret. He would leave her forever if he knew about her past.

Just as Jade had brought the two lovers their meal, the stranger showed up and winked at Allie as he sat down in another of Jade's booth. He waited for Jade to come over and take his order. He had something to ask her, but he wanted to do it right. He was going to ask Jade on a date and ask her.

Hello, sir! Nice to see you again!” Jade said, greeting the stranger, as she had yet to know his name.

Hello Allie.” the stranger said.

Jade was dumbfounded. “How do you know me?”

I know you very well.” the mysterious stranger told her. “If you agree to go on a date with me, I'll be glad to tell you how.”

Uh, okay.” Allie accepted, not sure if she should have.

So, pick you up after you get off?” the stranger asked.

Yea, sure! Fine. I get off at 8.” Jade told him.

Great. I'll see you then.” the mysterious stranger picked up his hat and walked out the diner. “Don't worry about your uniform, dear. I have an outfit for you to wear. I'll bring it by when I pick you up.”

Jade was dumbfounded as the mysterious stranger left the diner. She didn't know what to say. Was this a date? She didn't know his name, but he was certainly easy on the eyes. He had a thick of dark curly hair. And despite the cane, the guy was extremely tall, practically towering over her when he stood up. Jade had to tell Roxie, another server, and her new friend about this.

Roxie, can we talk for a minute?” Jade asked, when she finally got into the break room.

Sure, doll! What about?” Roxie inquired.

Something weird just happened to me.” Jade began.

Like what?”

You remember that mysterious stranger that always sit in my booth?”

Yes. Did he ask you out?”

How did you know?”

I could tell he would by the way he always looked at you.”

I'm not so sure, though. I mean, I don't even know his name.”

So, you ask him tonight, when he picks you up. Problem solved.”

Yea, I know. There's just something strange about him.”

Like, what do you mean?”

I can't figure it out. But there is something about him that I can't shake.”

Oh, honey, I'm sure everything will be fine. Go on this date and enjoy yourself.” Roxie said, encouraging her.

Yeah, I know. Thank you, Roxie, for listening. Even when I sound like a nut.”

Oh, honey, you're not a nut.” Roxie said. “You're just nervous. It's natural.”

I hope you're right.” Jade said, sounding insecure.

Let me know how things go tonight. Wake me when he drops you off.” Roxie adds. Roxie and Jade were roommates after Roxie found out about Jade's troubles, and offered her a place to stay. The two have formed a friendship since.

While Jade finished up her day at the diner, anticipating her night with the mysterious stranger, the mysterious stranger was getting things ready for Jade. He was going to make Jade's, or Allie's night a memorable one. One she would never forget.
