Chapter 3 - The Double-CrossA Chapter by A Soap Mess StoriesTravis felt guilty double-crossing Aeryn like he did. But there was nothing he could about it. Chris found out about his horrible past and wouldn't let it go unless he did Chris a favor. Travis just didn't think it would go this far. Travis didn't want to double-cross Aeryn, but Chris threatened that he would make sure the whole town knew about Travis past if he refused to help him. Travis felt trapped. He just hoped that Aeryn would never find out about this. But Chris had other plans now that he had the goods on both Travis and Aeryn. He was working on a plan that would give Aeryn a run for his money. And with the goods on Travis, Chris was sure he would win this war between him and Aeryn. Aeryn wouldn't know what hit him when ?Chris was through with him. Chris was on his way to meet with his 18-year-old friend he had met online named Sly Mickey. Sly, as he preferred to be called, told Chris that he would purchase a gun for him if he produced the $300 for it, since Chris was underage. What Chris didn't know was that Sly was a dangerous criminal and Chris was perfect for his sly plan. If things couldn't get any worse, Amelia Jacobs had text Aeryn with news she had to tell him. He text back to meet him in the school courtyard. Amelia sent another text telling him she would be there in five minutes. Amelia was Chris' little sister and was harboring a crush on Aeryn. She was deeply in love with Aeryn, but feared animosity due to their families rivalry and Chris' threat to tell their father if she ever dated Aeryn. Aeryn saw Amelia and waved for her to come over to the table he was sitting at. Amelia didn't look so happy. “Amelia, what's wrong?” Aeryn asked her, pulling out a chair for her. “I heard some disturbing news.” Amelia said, crying on his shoulder as he offered her his shoulder. “It's about Travis.” “What is it, Amelia?” Aeryn asked. “I'm sure it can't be that bad?” “You don't want to know this, Aeryn.” Amelia began. “I overheard Travis and Chris talking about you in the park yesterday.” “So, Travis lied to me about his whereabouts yesterday!” Aeryn thought to himself. “Go on, Amelia. I'm listening.” Aeryn told her. “I was playing ball with Lucy Jenkins at the park.” Amelia began. “The ball got stuck in the bushes and I went to retrieve it.” “Go on....” “Well, I saw Travis meeting with Chris. He told Chris about your revenge plot against Chris.” Amelia spat out. Aeryn was seething inside, but did not let Amelia see his anger. “Thank you, Amelia. I appreciate you telling me this.” Aeryn assured her. He touched her knee, which sent shivers up Amelia's spine. She wanted to reach out and hug him, but she was afraid of someone spotting them and telling her brother. But Aeryn did leave Amelia with peck on her cheek before he left. Amelia watched as Aeryn left the school courtyard. She wished she could help him, but feared no one would understand her feelings for Aeryn. Aeryn winked at Amelia as he left which made her wonder what it meant. Thanks to Amelia, Aeryn would be confronting Travis about his double-cross. Right now, he had to see Kelly and Colin and discuss the plot. © 2014 A Soap Mess Stories |
