Chapter 2 - Shocking Information

Aeryn was looking up research on the murder of Chris' mother online. He was shocked to discover that Chris' mother, Krystal, was having an affair with a married man from her husband, Henry Jacobs company. The article didn't list who the affair was with. But the article did mention that it was an affair gone wrong.

The two lovers met secretly at the O'Leary mansion for one of their trysts. No one knew what happened but the crime scene was a grisly scene. There was blood in every room and the bedroom looked as if it were set up for a romantic night that turned horribly wrong. The case was never solved and legend has it that Krystal Winters Jacobs is haunting the O'Leary Mansion in search of her forbidden lover who murdered her.

After doing his research, Aeryn felt guilty for his revenge plot on Chris. He text Kelly, Travis, and Colin to meet at their secret clubhouse for an emergency meeting. Travis got Aeryn's text, but ignored it. He was waiting for Chris Jacobs at the park. He saw Chris riding his bike and parked it in one bike racks then walked over to the swings where Travis was waiting for him.

“So, what did you find out from Aeryn's meeting?” Chris inquired.

“Aeryn is plotting a prank on you at the O'Leary mansion, a sleepover where you have to spend the night and they are conjuring up an apparition of your dead mother to scare you.” Travis said, double-crossing Aeryn.

“Good work, Travis. I knew I could count on you.” Chris said, appreciatively.

“Look, Chris, I received a text from Aeryn about some emergency meeting just now.” Travis informed him.

“Well, you best get going. You don't want Aeryn to suspect anything.” Chris reminded him.

“Yes. Talk to later about it.”

“You do that.”

So, Aeryn is plotting a prank against me? At the O'Leary mansion where my mother was murdered. Aeryn would be sorry he did this.

Meanwhile, at the secret clubhouse...

“Kelly, Colin, I found some disturbing news when I was researching Chris' mother's murder earlier today.” Aeryn began to explain.

He was interrupted by Travis entrance.

“Nice of you to show up, Travis.” Aeryn told him.

“Sorry, my mother made me finish my chores before I could get over here.” Travis explained.

“That's okay, Travis. Now back to what I was talking about. I don't think I want to do this prank on Chris anymore.” Aeryn told Kelly, Colin, and Travis.

“But you have to.” Travis told everyone.

“I found some disturbing information about his mother's murder and I feel guilty about doing this to Chris.”

“Well, just think of all the cruel jokes Chris has played on you, Aeryn?” Travis reminded him.

“But Chris has been through so much. I never knew how much he went through when his mother was murdered. I can't do this anymore.”

“But we did all the hard work.” Kelly added. “I have the apparition all done and ready for the prank.”

“C'mon, Aeryn. We've come so far. We can't give up now.” Colin added his input.

Against his better judgment, Aeryn relented, “Okay, guys. We've come so far to quit now.”

“So, we meet at the O'Leary mansion at 6 PM tonight.” Travis told everyone. “I'll bring Chris with me.”

“Great. It's all set. 6 PM tonight.” Aeryn seconded the motion. “Chris wouldn't know what hit him.”
