An Amazing Year Ahead For "The Casual Witches"

"

What, we wondered, were Casual Witches? When we heard the name we immediately conjured up an image of a couple of beautiful young women stylishly dressed in black driving a Porsche down the highway instead of riding brooms over head. Well, the Casual Witches we met were pretty close to our first impression. They were two lovely young women with confident smiles who looked nothing like the stereotypical witches of several hundred years ago. In fact, they aren’t witches at all. They are healers and coaches who specialize in lithoherapy, Reiki, color therapy and tarot readings, among other things.

Anna and Jen are the Casual Witches and they combine varied healing and holistic disciplines to enable one to know one’s self better and to become free from one’s limiting patterns in order to reach your full potential. These two Casual Witches offer a new approach to spirituality and well-being and they target the negativity and low self-esteem that impact their clients’ self-fulfillment. Their fundamental goal is to give their age-old and misunderstood holistic practices a new lease on life" your life, that is. Their disciplines have worked on thousands of people and they see no reason why they shouldn’t be brought back to the forefront of the holistic healing process.

Lithotherapy, by the way, is the “method to cure using stones.” It is a healing system that utilizes certain stones to balance the body and the mind. Some cultures have been using stones in massage for thousands of years and other cultures use them in rituals and ceremonies. The ancient Greeks used the ground down powder of marble to cure stomach disorders and the Egyptians treasured Lapis Lazuli as a medicinal.

Reiki, according to Johns-Hopkins Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center, is a very specific form of energy healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” Reiki can also be done “long-distance,” as a form of prayer. According to many versions of its origin, Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience. He is said to have begun teaching others after a serious earthquake hit Japan and he felt urged to spread his knowledge. In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Energy to the client. The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing.

These are just a few of the things Anna and Jen offer their clients.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, right. "certain stones" have magical powers. Good one.

But why wasn't this piece labeled as humor?
