Did you know that Belgium is the number one exporter of chocolate in the world? Well, it is. Delicious praline chocolates were invented in Belgium in 1912 and several world-famous actors and actresses were born in Belgium: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Audrey Hepburn and the most recent arrival to the hub of the movie industry is Ann Sophie Vanlommel. She came to study acting at arguably one of the best acting schools on the West Coast, The Stella Adler Academy Of Acting and Theatre. She excelled in her courses there and soon after graduating she was catapulted into a fast-paced actor’s life and working in everything from commercials, music videos and short films to Television and feature-length motion pictures.

 

We were looking at her acting resumé the other day and couldn’t believe how long it was. She has so many credits on those pages that our first thought was that she was a much older woman who had been in the business for over forty years. But, of course, once you see her photograph you realize that she is a young, beautiful and talented woman who has been in the film business just a few short years. Why, then, is she so busy, might be the next logical question? It’s simple: She is incredibly talented and she is always thoroughly prepared for any role she accepts way before she steps onto the shooting set, stage or location; a perfect combination for success.

 

She is a wiz at accents and she actually speaks five languages fluently, Dutch, Flemish, English, German and French. She plays the piano, Her voice is a beautiful mezzo-soprano and she is also a songwriter. She is no slouch when it comes to sports and athletic ability. She skis, runs sprints and long distance, does the high jump and the long jump and she knows how to use a 9mm handgun. She has an endless supply of interesting and unusual talents.

She is currently filming Sleep Walk and has several projects coming up that she is not supposed to talk about right now. Her advice to aspiring actors and artists in any discipline is to stay true to your values and never give up even if you feel that everything is working against you.
