Michele Abascal, the Mexican actress, has such a full resumé that on the
surface it looks like she has been acting for decades instead of just a few
short years. Her vast experience in movies and short films and her numerous credits
in theater showed us that she has the acting range to play both men and women.
At different times Michele was cast in Shakespeare’s Hamlet in which she played
Ophelia and then turned around and played Hamlet himself.
And she was quite convincing as the
two male characters of Silvius and Corin in Shakespeare’s As You Like It. Michele also won the coveted Best Actress Award at
the International Festival of University Theatre for her performance as Ilse in
Spring Awakening,
Looking
over her roles in scores of plays told us that Michele is not only a talented
female actress but that she can play roles of either gender and do them both
equally well. That’s means that this woman has drive, talent remarkable acting
skills and a true love of acting. We’ve never seen a resumé like hers before.
She is a powerhouse to be reckoned with and she is raising the bar as far as
what can be done by today’s actors. Some
of the short films that she has had leading roles in are: The Great Misfortune, Deep in the Woods, Castle of Purity, The Haunted
Bakery, She, Cut, Soft, Eunice, Dawn, Always the Same, Cain and Janus, to name only a few. She has also
done plenty of commercials for leading international brands such as: Nextel
AT&T, Nestlé S.A., Sprite, Santander, Budweiser, Corona and Unefon. Michele
has been featured in several motion pictures including, Gringo, Tell Love and
Conversations. Michele
has gone through extensive training that helped her fine tune her acting craft.
She earned a Master’s Degree at the National Institute of Fine Arts in the
National School of Theater. She also studied stage combat, tap, casting for
film and television and body and movement at the Acting in Cinema School in Los
Angeles, California. Michele also studied at the Russian Institute of Acting
and Film along with Shakespeare Acting at BADA (British American Drama Academy.
Although she has an extensive list of projects she has participated in, Michele
believes that each project arrives when it
must arrive and teaches us what it has to teach us, so each one, at the time,
has been her favorite and has taught her something that she needed to learn and
