The Talented and Visual Eye of Roona Mukhopadhyay

A lot of Hollywood hopefuls come to Los Angeles each year, but only a few actually make it in the film business. To travel almost 9,000 miles just to work in the movie industry, one might say that you have to be rather passionate about it, wouldn’t you think? And we’ve observed that those with the most passion about something seem to always succeed where the others fail. Roona Mukhopadhyay is certainly serious about her career in the movie capital of the world or she wouldn’t have said good-bye to all her family and friends in India, hopped a plane and come to sunny California to be a filmmaker.

 

Roona became interested in the entertainment industry at an early age and she always knew that she wanted to be part of it. She loved movies and would watch them over and over again to analyze what worked and what didn’t. In college she acted in live theatre plays and did talk shows and new anchoring. After she won the title of Miss Gorakhpur (her small town in the largest state of India) she won the lead role in a feature film. That, she says, was where her real journey began.

 

After that film she worked on many more Bollywood films in India and in London.

She has always been interested in acting but she also had a curiosity for the production side of the film business so she decided to learn everything about the process of movie production as possible. Now, Roona has countless valuable film production skills because she has worked in almost every position there is in every phase of film production.

 

She is a talented director and an economic producer and production manager. She can edit and be the director of cinematography. She can keep the production rolling smoothly with her assistant director know-how and find the best places to shoot the film as location manager. Finding the right cast is never a problem when Roona is the casting director and if scenes need to be added or a script needs to be revised, Roona is an experienced and creative writer who can get the job done.

 

She has worked on so many films that her resumé is longer than one has time to read it. Roona is currently in pre-production on several projects including one of her own feature-length scripts.
