What do they call a guy who wears million-dollar hat? “Pope,” is the correct answer. What do you call a young man from Italy who speaks four languages fluently, plays the piano, has a BA in theatre arts and has acted in tons of films, commercials, Internet shows, stage plays and TV projects? “Silvio Defant,” is definitely the answer you’re looking for here.

Silvio is all that and more. He’s not only an interesting person and a solid, established actor, but looking at his resumé we also found out that he is a passionate and driven young man who once he sets his sights on a goal, he usually goes all out to achieve it in a very short period of time. Silvio was born and raised in a small town in the Italian Alps. He’s always loved movies and the theatre since he was a kid. He started his journey when he played the part of Pentheus in Euripedes’ Bacchae. He was only 16 years old but that put him on the path to be a professional actor and it also put him in the local newspapers with some very good reviews for his performance.

After that, Silvio entered his new world of being an actor full-heartedly. He got more involved in theatre in high school and then he went on to university, which gave him the tools to develop his natural abilities and to make his dream of acting more concrete. He received a BA in theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota Morris and then he went on to study at California State University Northridge where he immersed himself in film acting and cinematography. Being in school so close to Hollywood gave him a well-rounded understanding and experience of what a real movie actor’s life in the film capital of the world could really be like.

After he finished school he has been acting steadily ever since. Some of the films that Silvio has been are: Of Everything That Stands, Blur, Within the Dash, Life is a Dance, Killer Wingfield, Every Bite and This Town is Full of Ghosts, among many more. He’s been in commercials for Facebook, DJI and Farfetched, to name a few of the brands that he has represented. Silvio is a real actor in the real world and he can’t imagine doing anything else.
