'Battle of the Sexes' Actor Yannik Collin

Making Canada proud! Actor Yannik Collin has Hollywood talking.

The Canadians are coming! The Canadians are coming!! Perhaps some of our friends from the Great White North are already here. We know at least one of them is here anyway, and his name is Yannik Collin. He is from a small town in Quebec, about 550 miles from Montreal and his love of acting and the movies has brought him to Los Angeles, the movie capital of the world.

Yannik decided to become an actor when he was 17 and that’s when he quit school and got a job at Tim Horton’s, Canada’s version of Starbucks. He saved all his money in order to move to Los Angeles and survive there until he got work. In the meantime, Yannik studied acting techniques and everything acting via the Internet and he and his friends made short films that he acted in. when he arrived in L.A. he enrolled in the Los Angeles Performing arts Conservatory and immersed himself in extensive and exhaustive acting courses.

One of the most important things on any actor’s agenda is getting an agent who can then get jobs for the thespian. Yannik was still at the conservatory when he got a theatrical agent and a commercial agent, which is rare for that to happen so fast. Some people struggle for years to get an agent to represent them, yet, Yannik breezed into town and faster than a blink of an eye got representation by two agencies. Obviously, they recognized talent when they saw it.

Yannik has established himself as an actor who can do just about any type of role. He’s been in a number of films including, Battle of the Sexes, I’m Not Here, the Mad Whale and United, to name a few. He’s also been in Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Cameron Crowe’s Roadies. He’s also performed in several music videos including. Jill Davis’ Always Alone and a Cheat Codes video. Yannik has been working quite a lot since he moved down to sunny Southern California and has become pretty popular as a host on the popular radio show Accent On. His segment is called, Accent On Yannik. Even though Yannik misses his small town and his friends and family but has made a lot of friends through his acting career, he is here to stay.
