Indian Film, TV And Theater Actor Mohit SrivastavaA Story by starpowerMaking his country proud with his incredible presence in the film industry, Mohit SrivastavaAll
people have dreams and few combine those dreams with the mindset to achieve them. Some people have
goals and some people just have dreams. Mohit Srivastava is one of the former
who not only has high goals of
making it in the film industry, but he is actually doing it. Mohit is from
India and yet he has managed to come to Los Angeles, train at the famous Stella
Adler Acting Academy along with studying under the legendary Larry Moss (who
taught Helen Hunt, Tobey Maguire, Jim Carrey, Leonardo Di Caprio, Hilary Swank
to name a few) and then start acting in the movie capital of the world.
He
has performed in countless stage plays and numerous films and he is quickly
becoming one of the busiest actors in California. One of his favorite roles so
far on the stage was that of Victor Frankenstein in Nick Dear’s Frankenstein.
He had wanted to play that character for a long time and when he was told that
he had won the part he was extremely happy. So were the producers and director
because Mohit always brings something extra to each part he plays. He brings a
great deal of talent, experience, professionalism but all those things can be labeled
as common communities in an industry you could label as the most competitive in
the world. And to be successful in it you must bring something else and Mohit
does that with his tenacity, his yearning and discipline for higher art.
His
other work includes Fighting Shadows where Mohit plays a character who wants to
be an astronaut by day but then becomes a street fighter at night to make money
in order to support his ambitions. That role alone took a bit of acting
expertise because the character goes from being an intellectual to a kill or be
killed brawler in a matter of seconds.
Maybe
he was influenced by all the great actors he saw when he was a kid growing up
in India. His idol is James Dean (Whom he regards are the greatest physical
actor of all time). Deans legacy inspired him to come to LA and go for his
dreams. He sees himself taking up roles like Jim Stark in Rebel Without a Cause
and Cal Trask in East of Eden. He is more inclined towards playing the
quintessential traumatized misunderstood young man on screen but is a big believer in the philosophy that
we have the capability to think, feel and understand anything within us.
Mohit remembers that when he saw Al Pacino in Scarface look up at the sky and see the airplane pulling a banner that read, “The World Is Yours,” he knew that he wanted to be an actor. And here he is, right in the middle of Hollywood, playing those characters, making movies and acting in what must be the best job in the world. Mohit believes anyone can do what he did just by believing in themselves and working hard. Great advice. It’s hard to believe this young man is only 21. I speak for many when I say I'm on the edge of my seat curious as to what he will bring us next. © 2017 starpower |
