Sweden's own international star, Sofie G

Why would anyone leave beautiful Sweden to come to Hollywood? Well, there are plenty of reasons that come to mind. One reason might be the weather �" it’s almost always sunny and warm in Los Angeles and Sweden has a very cold reputation. Maybe a more precise question would be: “Why would a professional and well established actress move from Sweden to Los Angeles?” Ah, yes, that makes a difference, doesn’t it? Sofie Gallerspang, the well trained and well established Swedish actress is moving to Los Angeles to further her film career, that’s why. After all, L.A./Hollywood is the movie capital of the world, if you don’t count Bollywood in Mumbai, India.

 

Sofie has decided to move to Southern California because there is simply more opportunity for her there. She has already done almost thirty films in Sweden, along with numerous stage plays, TV shows and commercials so why not move on to bigger and better things if and when you can? She’s studied with the best of the best, names like Dianne and Lorrie Hull, who teach Lee Strasberg’s Method. She also worked with the two Swedish actors and directors: Victor Von Schirach and Lars-Magnus Larsson, Accents with the actor and producer: Linda Slade, Improvisation with: Jessica Regan and Theater Studies at: Gothenburg University.  

 

Sofie has already done the best she can do in Sweden and now it’s time for her to come to the other side of the world and make movies for the U.S. and the world. Once she gets here she already has contacts and she already has several jobs waiting for her, which speaks volumes for her networking skills and organizational planning. Perhaps she should think about producing. Well, she has done that with her own films that she wrote because she couldn’t find anything at the time that she liked in other scripts. Her films and plays have received rave reviews from critics and audience members alike and she has several more in pre-production as we speak.

 

She will start a new life in California but when she settles in she will notice that her life will not be that different than when she was in Sweden. She will have a ready-made family in L.A. that will welcome her as a long-lost sister because actors, no matter where they are from, are just one big happy family.
