Where did this guy come from? Yes, a lot of people are asking that same question. Where did Humberto Rosa come from and where does he get all the energy to do everything he has done at such a young age?

 

Well, the first answer is simple, Humberto was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, but the explanation for the second question may be anyone’s guess. We believe all that energy Humberto possesses comes strictly from his inner drive to be the world’s most prolific filmmaker. He’s on a non-stop journey to make every kind of movie, tell every type of story and to win every film award on the planet, and we think he will succeed.

 

Humberto is an artist. He’s also a producer and entrepreneur, which, by default makes him enormously focused and organized and goal oriented. When you throw in his artistic capabilities and visionary propensity, you have an unstoppable force of nature that moves forward with the power of a hurricane.

 

We looked at his resumé but it was just too long to even think about writing about all his achievements in this piece. We even got overwhelmed thinking about describing two or three of his projects so we decided to simply present our feelings about this young giant of a filmmaker. His refined energy, management skills and overpowering sense of confidence remind us of another filmmaker whose name has become mythical among movie goers and producers and directors as well: Francis Ford Coppola.

 

Humberto has started his own film company, Red Line Films, similar to Coppola starting his own production company when he was a young artist. Apparently, the more control these kinds of artist/producers have, the better for their survival and the better for their films. Coppola shot one of his first features in Ireland and so did Humberto. He co-directed Invoked which was released in Europe last year and this year released in Australia and Canada and in theaters in the Philippines. Invoked was also released on September 17 in the US on DVD and Netflix and available at Walmart.    

 

People are always wondering why artists are artists and how the successful ones succeed. We wonder the same thing but since we see so many parallels between Coppola and Humberto Rosa, we can perhaps get a bit closer to an answer. They are both brilliant writers and brilliant filmmakers who are not afraid to step forward and say what needs to be said in order for their films to be the best they can be. We also feel that having full confidence in their stories can catapult them into higher levels of artistry. There are plenty more attributes that would tell us even more about this artist’s success and energy, but we’ll have to explore those at another time.
