A force to be reckoned with, actress Sevda LeventA Story by starpowerAn actress of many talents, Sevda LeventPhoto by: Nigel Beaumont Is there anything
Sevda Levent can’t do? I saw her in a few film clips the other day and was
amazed at how professional she was as an actress. The way she carried herself
and the way she just became the character she was playing reminded me of
someone who had been acting for forty years. Sevda is not even thirty yet and
she has the skills and talents of someone who has been in the industry who is
twice her age. How does that
happen? It’s always a puzzle (and a blessing too) when we see an artist who is
so gifted at such a young age. Now, when we say gifted we don’t mean that
everything was just given to this beautiful actress. We mean that there is a
certain spark in her eyes and in her heart that naturally drives her toward her
destiny, which, in this case happens to be acting. Getting back to the initial
question however, is there anything Sevda can’t do…? We think the answer is
clearly “No.” She can do anything
she wants to do because of that “spark”. It drives her to success no matter
what she tries to accomplish. She is a singer and, get this: she taught herself how to play the piano
when she was 14. She plays by ear and she also composes her own music. When she
lived in Cyprus she was the lead singer in a production which was a compilation
of different musicals that toured the island. Some of her solos included, 'Wishing
You Were Somehow Here Again' from The
Phantom of the Opera, 'Where is Love' from Oliver! And 'Autumn Leaves'. She has also played Nancy in a
production of Oliver! Her favorite
music genres are urban-pop, classical and country. Sevda studied acting
at RADA, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, in London, and she has been in many
stage plays and films. Some of the plays she has performed in include, The Call, Win Or Die, A View From The
Bridge, Fast Forward and Copa Cabana.
A few of the many films she has acted in are: Let Me Go, a feature film directed by Polly Steele, Coffee, a short film and Twenty8K, a full-length film directed by
David Kew and Neil Thompson and written by Shameless’s
Paul Abbott. Sevda has several projects coming up including a massive feature
film- we can’t wait to see her in them. © 2016 starpower |
