Australian actor Michael Williams doing big things in the world of film!

We recently sat down with the multi-talented Australian actor Michael Williams who has been busy working on several exciting productions and memorable roles. Coming up in 2017, he will make his directorial debut in the film ‘The Sacrifice’. On top of being one heck of an actor, Michael Williams is sure to win fans over with his humble attitude and respect for his peers. Here is what he had to share with us:

Please introduce yourself to the readers and how and when did you first get into performing?

Hello and thank you for your time, I’m Michael Williams and I was born in Melbourne, Australia. I first got involved into performing when I was asked to be in a short film as I suited the look of the character I was portraying. Now, here I am over 30 films later!

What inspired you to get into the entertainment industry?

I have always been captured by movies since I was a child and one day I decided to just chase that dream.

What kind of training have you had, if any?

I have had the pleasure of training with some of the best acting teachers in the world, which has been amazing! From my experience, your instincts and life’s experiences are your first best teacher when it comes to acting.

What has been your favorite role to play so far?

My favorite role to date so far would be playing the character of Biff in the legendary theatre show ‘Death of a Salesman’. There were 1000 people in the audience, a sold out show -nothing beats live theatre when you nail it and we did, that night!

Biff as a character is such a unique man yet, so conflicted.

What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?

Well that is easy! It would be working next to the late and great Mr Heath Ledger on ‘Ned Kelly’. I had a small speaking part, but nothing compares to working with greatness. He was an amazing example to me as an actor and it was one of my finest moments in life, to be honest!

What projects do you have coming up?

Wow! I have an extremely busy 18 months ahead of me, with 3 feature films, 1 TV series and my feature film directorial debut ‘The Sacrifice’. Plus like always, more work will pop up, exciting and blessed times!

Who would you most like to work with?

Michael Caine, because the first acting book I read was Michael Caine ‘Acting in film’. To this day, it is still my favorite book because I learned so much from it. It was about his life before he became an actor and he has inspired me so much throughout my acting career. Plus, I would love to do a scene opposite him one day, which might happen soon, because God controls our destiny, dreams and paths.

What are your plans for the future?

My main plan in the near future is to direct my feature film in 2017 ‘The Sacrifice’ which is about a retired bounty hunter who is drawn to one last case. Also to continue work as an actor and produce as much work as I can in Australia and of course the US. Life is always busy and busy makes business.

What is your advice to aspiring performers?

Be yourself, you’re unique and beautiful, trust yourself first and don't be afraid to fail as you never learn from the wins in life! We always learn from our losses, mistakes and regrets and which will sharpen our characters as actors.
