THE IMPECCABLE TALENT OF ELLINOR TAFLINA Story by starpowerEllinor Taflin accomplishing amazing things in the acting worldWhat does it take
to make it in Hollywood? Apparently it
takes a great deal of endurance, persistence and a lot of drive to succeed. At
least that’s what we got when we talked to Ellinor Taflin. She moved to Los
Angeles to be at the epicenter of the entertainment industry and she is from
Sweden. Sure, they have a film industry over there and some great movies and
directors and actors have come from that beautiful country, but somehow most
actors, if they want to really get great roles and be in some of the best
movies in the world, always come to Hollywood.
Ellinor fell in
love with movies and acting when she was just a little girl and she got into
theater when she seven. She still remembers acting in plays that her and her
little friends made up and how she loved the magic of movies that always had
the most interesting characters and transported her to new worlds. She loves
the theater but movies, she says, are fascinating because you can create
anything. In theatrical plays it is much more difficult for the audience to
suspend disbelief simply because of the way the sets and the backgrounds look =
fake. With motion pictures, however, reality can be created through special
effects or by shooting on a real location.
She studied
acting in Sweden but got much more extensive training in London where she
immersed herself in the Meisner technique. She then traveled to the states and
attended the New York Film Academy, where she continued her training in Meisner
but got a taste of different acting techniques such as Method, Stella Adler,
Hagen, Spolin, Chekhov and Stanislavsky. She did plenty of Shakespeare, which
is always very beneficial for any actor as it is so different from the modern
style of acting. She loved performing in the Bard’s plays and she said that it
takes a lot of practice, even though it always came sort of easy to her. She
believes the reason it might have come more easily to her than some of her
peers might be because she has always been so interested in Shakespeare. She
had seen several of his plays both before and after she had been in any
herself. Ellinor has been in countless stage plays and numerous films and just
wrapped up co-producing a short film called Bloggers, which she will also perform in.
