Up there with the best of them, international star Robyn Duse

What do Cate Blanchett, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Geoffrey Rush, Toni Collette and Robyn Duse all have in common? Well, the first and most obvious thing they share is their nationality; they all come from Australia. The next conspicuous piece of evidence linking them altogether is acting; they all happen to be highly polished and extensively trained actors. Another piece of the puzzle, which is certainly not very puzzling at all, is that they have all come to the United States to act and to be involved in the film business in Hollywood.

 

Most of these super talented and very artistic thespians continue to live in Australia and come back to tinsel town whenever duty calls. Robyn Duse has appeared on many popular Australian TV series such as Neighbours, House Husbands, INXS: 'Never Tear Us Apart Telemovie,’ Secret Life of Us, Kath & Kim, Stingers as well as some International films.

Robyn has also has traveled to Los Angeles over six times in the last few years and has studied at the best acting schools and trained with the best teachers. Her alma maters include the legendary Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood, Margie Haber Studios in Los Angeles, Meisner Los Angeles and the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Some of her acting teachers are the famous American dialect coach Bob Corff and the Aussie actor who doubles as a terrific acting mentor, Andy McPhee as Robyn states "Andy has been such an amazing mentor/friend who constantly pushes me and guides me to a higher level which I am very thankful for." 

 

Robyn Duse, like all the other truly dedicated actors in the world, continues trying to better herself and her acting skills. When she’s not rehearsing for a stage play or busy on a big film set, she’s out on auditions, which she feels improves her acting techniques every time she does a reading in front of a producer, director or casting agent. She feels that if you’re committed to something like acting, you should never, ever give up and always make sure not become too complacent about your craft. Like a fine painter or sculptor or a fine carpenter, she is always pushing forward to find a new level of artistic achievement.

 

When asked what advice she would give to aspiring actors Robyn didn’t hesitate and said that if you’re 100% dedicated and you persevere and work hard, you will reap the rewards. She also said that "You should get used to the many “no’s” that are sure to come your way. It’s just part of the business and instead of feeling negative about it, you should see the audition process and the rejections as a learning tool. Once you do that, she said, you’re on your way to a “Yes,” which will eventually come".

 

Robyn has two feature films that she has recently been cast in and is very excited to shoot. She will portray a Judge in the upcoming US/Australian feature film ‘What Comes Around Goes Around' which is an exciting new role for her to delve into.The film is about a newlywed couple that are having a wonderful time starting their lives together until a terrible tragedy occurs and ends it all.

Next up, Robyn will portray the character of ’Sapphire' in the upcoming feature Film ‘Iniquitous’ which is also a very different and exciting role for her where she plays a prostitute. This film is a dramatic thriller set around four people’s lives that are destroyed when they each seek outside support for their personal lives. Robyn enjoys playing roles with lots of depth, layers and substance and believes both of these roles are going to be quite rewarding and fulfilling which she can’t wait to start filming. Rumor has it that also Robyn has been shortlisted for an upcoming feature film in the UK for a lead role. For Robyn, she is excited for new opportunities that will lead to more overseas travel and working even more on an international level. 

This young talented actress continues making her mark in the industry making a name for herself as she travels across the world regularly consistently meeting casting directors and producers. Robyn is a powerhouse on the move as the world continues to watch this young talented actress shine brighter than ever before.

 

She recently met with some of the top casting directors from Two and a Half Men, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, Bridesmaids and Wedding Crashers to name a few. Many of whom are eagerly anticipating her return to some future acting roles.
