All we can say is, “Thank Heaven for Italy!” I mean, don’t they… haven’t they produced some of the most beautiful women in the universe; and also some of the most talented, too? Once you take a look at Debora Giannone, you’ll understand exactly what we’re talking about. In fact, one look just isn’t going to do. We know that you’re going to be glued to the screen just like we were when we you watch her reel. And then when you see her in some feature films you’re going to be blown away " certainly by the way she carries herself and the way she looks, but also by her amazing talent and command of each scene that she’s in.

It’s no wonder that Debora is such an accomplished actress. She started young, at the age of 6, and she has never stopped portraying characters or going through extensive training since then. It was clear to her early on that she would become an actress because all she wanted to do in this life was to act and to take the audience on an emotional journey through storytelling.

Debora was born in Switzerland to Italian parents and she began serious theatre study at age 12 when she started to do Shakespeare and Brecht and went to Method acting group classes. She had a private acting coach for some time and then went through the intensive two-year acting conservatory at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She studied with the legendary teacher Anthony Meindl for cold reads and scenes, and then was trained by the famous Lesly Kahn for comedy and Gerry Katzman for stand up comedy. You can see her stand up routine on Youtube.

Debora has worked with Paolo Sorrentino, the Academy Award Winning director, on his new film Youth. She’s also working with some directors in Switzerland and Germany on some upcoming projects. Yes, she does speak several languages quite fluently. Debora is a busy woman and it looks like she’ll always be very busy in the film industry. She is also a photographer with some series and shows in the works.

Her advice to new actors: Focus on what you love about acting and remember that. Always remind yourself why you chose to do a certain role when you get a script. Also, it’s important to have a life outside of acting and to develop a strong sense of self. And it’s important to be persistent and most of all " to have fun!
