Talented South African Actor Thomas Lubbe

Following in the footsteps of other greats before him like Charlize Theron, South Africa's Thomas Lubbe

Thomas Lubbe, also known as Tommy, is from South Africa and I caught up with him not too long ago in Los Angeles, California. During the time he spent in Los Angeles and Hollywood, in particular, his drive to be a world-class actor grew enormously. How could it not when one is in the heart of the filmmaking capitol of the world? When he first strolled down Hollywood Boulevard he got a funny feeling inside of him. Later he realized it was the same kind excitement and exuberance that kids get when they first go to Disneyland or when you go out on your first date. Hollywood does that to most people because almost all of us would rather be making movies on a sound stage at Paramount Studios than be working at a desk somewhere in oblivionville. 

That’s just what Tommy thinks too, only he’s the guy who can pull it off and he’s the guy who is actually going to pull it off. He’s been in a lot of films, commercials and stage plays in his home country of South Africa so far, and now he’s been tapped to work with the famous Hollywood actor and director, Ryan Adams. It’s a film that’s in the style of Alfred Hitchcock, and Ryan Adams is the talented filmmaker who is going to pull that one off. His talent is legendary and he definitely knows how to tell a story through film. Ryan Adams has worked with some of the real giants in the industry from iconic director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) to Country singer/ actor Dwight Yoakum, Frankie Avalon and most recently “The Quick and the Dead” famed actor Lance Henriksen.  Ryan Adams recognizes a professional when he sees one, as in Tommy’s case.

Tommy’s met and worked with a lot of talented and famous people also, but when he met Ryan Adams, he knew that he had met the right person to direct him in his first Hollywood film. The two just seemed to hit it off in the most natural way and I’m sure this will only be the beginning of a long and fruitful filmmaking relationship between these two very talented people.
