The Library of Burned Books Actor Elliot JamesA Story by starpowerBritish Actor Elliot James has the world at his feetReading Elliot James’ Resumé is a thrill in itself. It has the feel of an adventure story with a humble and obviously, quite talented epic hero. (Am I going to far, here? I think not). Elliot is a British actor who has done just about everything there is to do when one is a professional actor. He’s been in countless and varied plays ranging from Shakespeare to The Big Sleep, even playing the rough and tumble Philip Marlowe, detective character, himself. He’s also played Mozart, in Amadeus, The Marquis de Sade in Quills and Charles in Blythe Spirit. Elliot has been in Greek tragedies, (haven’t we all?) and many famous and classic plays such as Waiting for Godot, Ghosts, Henry V, The Wind in the Willows, The Private Ear, and The Art of Success. Of course, there were many more, simply too many to name here. After reading the list or rather the litany, of his play credits exhaustion almost overtook me and I had to take a short nap to regain my energy and continue on with the reading of Elliot James’ magnificent adventure story, or as some prefer to call it, a resumé. If we talk about Elliot’s acting experience we should, in all fairness, mention that he has studied at the Royal Shakespeare Company, with the support and encouragement of Sir Kenneth Branagh and Sir Derek Jacobi. (How did he do that?). Oh yes, almost forgot, Elliot was in acting master classes with sir Ian McKellan, Richard Briers, OBE, Brenda Blethyn and Richard E. Grant. (Once again, who is this guy and how did he get to be Elliot James?). Well, the adventure is certainly not over and most likely will not be over in many, many years to come. Elliot James has also worked in films such as Martin Scorsese’s Hugo and with Bill Murray in Hide Park on the Hudson. He was also in a featured role in the academy award nominated short The Library of Burned Books. Does he have no shame? It appears that Elliot James is on the path of a serious actor, no doubt, but must he be this serious? It looks like he’s going to take this whole acting thing all the way to the BAFTAs and The Oscars. We think that everyone, that is, every other actor, should just be aware that this man, this Elliot James, is living in Los Angeles now and he might never leave. If you see him at an audition, you might as well just get back into your car and go home, there’s nothing for you there. © 2015 starpower |
