An actress with grace and substance Tara JayA Story by starpowerThe mesmerizing and talented Tara JayWhat do Stanislavski, Stella Adler, Lynette Sheldon and Chekhov have in common? Well, they could have several things in common, like maybe they were into stamp collecting, making homemade ice cream or perhaps they all liked eating Brussels sprouts. But, ultimately, who cares about those things when the real answer is Tara Jay. She’s that wonderfully talented actress from down under who has been mesmerizing audiences on stage and screen for the last few years. It seems that besides acting, Tara Jay has also been a dancer of great substance who has been kicking it since she was four years old. Some people might say it’s in her blood because she’s such a natural at it and she’s been at it for such an incredibly long time. And if they did say that, they’d be absolutely correct because her family was in vaudeville for generations and Tara was lucky enough to catch some of those talented genes from her forbearers. Luckily for those of us who love movies and TV, Tara got out of dancing after years of professional dancing across Europe. She was forced out by numerous injuries and subsequent foot surgeries. Being the type of person who never wants to just sit around, (unless it’s to watch a great movie or stage play), she threw herself into acting and studied with the best teachers available. That’s where the legendary Stanislavski and Stella Adler method along with Michaell Chekhov’s acting technique come in, along with the brilliant acting teacher Lynette Sheldon. Tara, no matter what she is doing, whether it’s choreography, archery, teaching ballet or acting, is a skilled and consummate professional in everything she does. She understands that being focused on just doing something isn’t enough. She knows that being focused on doing something well is the key to moving toward perfection. Each role she’s had has brought her that much closer to grasping what it means to understand the human condition, which is imperative if one wants to be a great actor. Each part she plays, whether it’s on the stage, TV or in a feature film, adds an extra layer of awareness to her ability to ‘become’ another character. Tara Jay’s persistence and attention to detail has brought her to the top of her profession and she has plenty of awards to prove it. The highly rated and critically praised series “The Gauntlet” showed off Tara Jay’s immense acting artistry and went on to win several awards, including Lead Actress Award for Tara Jay. “Bush Boys,” the feature film produced in Australia, was a hit with audiences and critics alike and Tara Jay was singled out again by applauding reviewers. The beautiful Tara Jay currently has several projects in the works and will be back in Los Angeles soon. Lucky us! © 2015 starpower |
