Presence. Having presence as an actor is even more important than a having a great location in the real estate industry. Few actors and actresses are born with a natural presence, that is, a magnetism that people immediately notice when he or she walks into a room or onto a sound stage. Leonardo Dicaprio has it, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise certainly have it, and along with several other riveting actors, Pierre Macko definitely has it.

 

Presence is one of those intangible elements that force people to stare or do a double take when a particular person comes into their range. It’s as unexplainable as it is uncontrollable. Either you have it or you don’t. When Pierre looks directly into the camera the audience knows instantly that there is a connection, a connection that becomes deeper and deeper as the story moves forward. They simply can’t wait to see what he does next.

 

Pierre Macko has worked on both sides of the Atlantic and feels very comfortable indulging his addiction (to acting) just about anywhere he goes. He has worked all over Europe, including Paris, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Russia and Los Angeles. Each country provided new experiences and new cultures, but he noticed one common thread among all the places he’s been: the acting and the process was pretty much the same. That is, the camaraderie among the actors, technicians and filmmaker was always close knit. Even though he worked with different people in most of those places, he always felt as if he was part of one big happy family, no matter where he was.  

 

A few years ago, before he started acting seriously, Pierre was a bit shy. He pushed himself, however, and trained hard in Meisner and Stanislavsky Method acting. Once he did some theatre roles he then immersed himself in on-camera acting techniques and then one day as he was playing a part, he realized that the shyness had completely vanished. He also realized that he was totally addicted to acting and knew he never wanted to do anything else with his life.

 

Since he’s been in the business for some time now and has quite a lot of experience under his belt, Pierre tells other actors not to forget that it is a business. He suggests that besides learning the art of acting, actors should also grasp the business side of it too. It may help them in the future.
