Holding
Degrees from The New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California, The College
of Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and Russian State Liberal University, Svetlana
Samarina is one of The United States’ most promising new producers despite
being born in Russia. In addition to working on the Winter Olympics in Sochi for
NBC Olympics as Supervisor of interview and report
shooting and organization in 2014, Svetlana has also worked on a cornucopia of
projects, including the largest historical feature produced to date: “Horde” as
Production Manager with Director Andrey Proshkin. The project lasted three
years and won The Russian National Awards: The Golden Eagle and The Nika in
addition to Best Director and Best Actresses from The Moscow International Film
Festival. Her other works include numerous music videos and short film in 2013,
“The Darkest Hour” in 2010, and “Pop” and “The Planet of Orthodoxy” in 2009.
The last in this list was shot in twenty four of the Eurasian continent’s
countries. She is currently living and working in Los Angeles, California on
independent features and would like to branch out into Horror and Sociological
Thrillers as their budget has the highest yield for box-office turnout. As 2015
presses on, keep a watchful eye out for works produced by Svetlana Samarina:
they are sure to be as astounding and entertaining as the work she has been
producing over the last six years, and don’t be surprised if her name comes up
or is attached to a project nominate for awards in The United States when the
time is right.
