At a beautiful twenty-three years old, the gorgeous
English-African Lisa Opara is an actress you would be remiss to ignore. So far
in her dizzying career she has delivered stunning performances in productions
such as The Body by Ten Cent
Adventures, The Powder Room by DJ
Films, Danz by Swiss Lips, Run by 4 Part Drama, both Displaced Diegetic and Serious Money by director Greta Mendes
(where she was cast for multiple roles), Love
and Information by Jamie Rocha Allan, A
Collection of Monologues by Alexander Parsonage, and her most recent
production, Not Talking by Mike
Bartlett.
Her talents include singing, songwriting, creative writing,
competitive sport, mimicry of both regional and international accents, and a
broad emotional palette. As a student of Sociology and Psychology she felt as
though something was missing from her life, and that something was acting.
Using her past education she perfected her craft at The Identity Drama School
(the UK’s first Black Drama School), and workshops such as: “The Business of
Entertainment” by Lea Patrick, “Commercial and Lifestyle Print” by Charlie
Winfield, “Acting for the Camera” by Craig Holzberg, and “Runway” by Peggy
Mckinley. She is currently working on a collection of poetry, external and
personal theatre productions, and singing/songwriting. Her influences include
Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender whom she studies to further her own
ability. With Hollywood already standing at the ready to receive Lisa Opara
from the UK keep an eye out for one of the most promising up-and-coming young
starlets.
