Sudanese-born thespian, Waleed Elgadi, is a UK actor who has
enjoyed considerable commercial success since the beginning of his professional
career in 2002. According to imdb.com (the
Internet Movie Data Base) which tracks an artist’s credits through the course
of a career, in a very short span of time, Waleed has accomplished more in 15
years than most actors do in a lifetime. Training began as a scholarship winner
at prestigious Hurtwood House College in England; followed by classical
training at Mountview Academy of the theatre Arts, after an honors degree in English
and Philosophy from the University of Liverpool. Post academia, Mr. Elgadi
started building a steadily impressive acting resume. He continues today to
excel in the television and film industry from England to Hollywood having
worked on both sides of the pond for such well respected names as the BBC, HBO,
ITV, Film4, 20th Century Fox, Studio Canal, Playtone, and Scott Free
Productions to name a few.
He has summoned success also in adjunct venues such as
voiceover and radio mediums, as well as his first love, the eternal theater. He
has been inspired by film icons ranging from contemporary actors such as Tim
Robbins, Christopher Walken, Kevin Spacey and Michael Sheen, to screen legends
who endure through decades, like Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Street, Robin Williams
and the inexorable Tom Hanks. One of Waleed’s greatest ambitions became a
reality when he co-starred opposite career role model,
Hanks in the Tom Tykwer feature film “Hologram for the King”, due to premiere
in 2015.
With a prodigious amount of work and experience already
under his belt, Waleed Elgadi has a line-of-sight target of film production
under his own emblem, newly formed production company, aptly named, Newborn
Productions. It would appear that this is no mere work-for-hire actor … but
rather, an entrepreneurial double-threat as both producer and star of his own
projects!
