platitude, “It is hard to defeat a person who never gives up.” If there is one
person who truly personifies this cliché and does justice with it, is none
other than the star Salme Geransar. Salme is a perfect example of hard work,
sacrifice, blood and perspiration. Born in Iran, this pretty lass moved to
Australia when she was just four. In Australia, she grew up on the central
coast, amongst loads of trees, beaches and numerous outdoor sports. She was
already showing the signs of a child prodigy, by the time she was seven, she
already had mastered the art of piano. Unlike other stars, who were good in
their respective fields, she was topping the charts when it came to studies
too. Arts and mathematics were her favorite subjects. After completing highschool,
she was in a bit of a dilemma, as in which career path should she chose and
enrolled herself in the biotechnology course at the University of Newcastle.
Here also, she was enjoying her work but she soon realized that the lab
sessions were not reiterating the kind of buzz, they should. At this particular
instance, she took a brave step, took some time off college, and registered
herself in a local drama school and the rest as they say is history. Her first break came when she moved to
Melbourne where she played the lead guest role on the TV police drama “Rush”.
Her acting skills in this drama really upped the ante. She then played a lead
guest role in “Winners and Losers”. Her acting in this soap opera also won her
many accolades.
However, she got the critical acclaim
she deserved, for her performance in the movie “Wish”. In
this movie, she portrays the role of an Iranian woman who has entangled herself
in immigration issues. Her work in this movie has got the eyeballs rolling.
