Bio: Mariana FloresA Story by starpowerBeautiful and talented performer, Mariana FloresPhoto by: Julio Vargas Mariana Flores is
becoming one of the most watched names in Hollywood. With a passion for acting,
singing, and dancing, she is quickly climbing the ladder of success in Los
Angeles competitive film market. Mariana is already considered to be a
notable figure in the entertainment industry, and she has a struggle and work
history behind this. Mariana’s parents knew
she would become a star. She started to perform on stage as a young child. Although her family wasn't particularly
artistically inclined, it was clear that Mariana had a gift. Growing up in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, she
took the stage at every opportunity throughout her childhood. To expand her opportunities, she applied and
was accepted to the world famous Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles,
where she trained with some of the best instructors in the U.S. and honed her
craft.
Having completed her
studies, Mariana took to the stage in Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty, which was directed by Oscar and Emmy winner Milton
Justice. In the play, Mariana played an actress who refused to bow to the
intimidation tactics of a powerful producer " a role she cites as being very
close to her heart. “This is a tough
industry, and we as actors, and particularly as women, have to stand up for
ourselves and for what’s fair,” she says.
Following her successful stage debut, Mariana played a juror in
actor/director May Quigley Goodman’s 12,
based on the classic film 12 Angry Men. Her most recent role was in the Lanford
Wilson classic The Rimers of Eldritch.
Many film roles
followed. Mariana landed leading roles
in several films which are, or will soon be, on the festival circuit including A Good Reason (which is currently being
adapted into a feature), March 15,
the boxing drama Hang Them Up, and
the comedic Special Delivery.Recently,
Mariana also appeared on Jason Eksusian’s famous TV series, DINKS(Double Income No Kids) and music videos for Jeremih (You Are
Mine), Sam Tsui’s Meant to Be (for Disney) and Boston rap sensation Dell Best
(The Trophy).
Some of her most recent film work includes award-winning director Stan Harrington’s most recent film Lost Angeles, which boasts an amazing cast that includes Oliver Pigott (of Canadian Idol fame), Robert Pralgo, David Marciano, among others. In addition to starring in the upcoming feature length version of A Good Reason, Mariana is also in negotiations for several other projects. We’re sure to be hearing a lot more from this feisty Mexican beauty in the very near future.
