A Stuntman is the person who acts as the shadow of the stars when they are not willing to put their lives in danger. It is the stuntman who comes forward to risk his life and put their life in the scene, whether it is a big jump from the roof, high speed car into a fire or fighting in life threatening circumstances. A Stuntman puts his life on stack and gives life to the scene. Rick Tonna is an Actor and Stunt Actor who has worked extensively in the Australian Film and TV Industry.

Stunt performers need to be prepared to act in dangerous tasks that include,

• Driving cars and motorcycles at high speed and crashing the vehicles.

• Jumping from high rise buildings.

• Flying or falling from planes.

• Entering into fire or setting themselves on fire.

• Performing dangerous and demanding fighting scenes.

• Showing the advance levels of martial arts skills in fighting, wrestling or boxing moves.

• Horse riding.

• Showing their skills in and under water, including swimming diving and other water acts.

Above are just a few of the stunts that are common. A stuntman is asked to do anything for the entertainment of the spectators. A Stuntman undertakes dangerous and hazardous acts to entertainment replacing the original actors in dangerous scenes. They endeavor to get the highest visual impression with great risk. The daredevils carry out situations that look spectacular and look dangerous using the timing technique and props to minimize the risk. It requires experience and lots of practice to execute a single stunt.

Rick is certified in stunt acting with over 26 years of martial arts experience. He has had the privilege of acting in different feature films and TV series. He as a professional stunt performer gets to the peak of physical fitness, which is Rick's top priority, as he works in physically demanding roles. Rick carries the following standards and maintains them all the time such as: quick reflexes and highly flexible, good eyesight, exact idea of timing, and above all responsible towards safety first.

His skill set has earned him many high profile roles in many productions throughout both Australia and the US. Working opposite the world’s best leading actors, he has choreographed fight sequences for films and performed some of the most dangerous stunts ever performed. One of Rick's most daring scenes in particular , was a high speed motorcycle crash at over 80 kilometres per hour which was shot for a national road campaign ad. Rick's dedication to his art has earned him many great roles, and he is continuing his passion, by taking it to the next level in Los Angeles.

Rick has currently been cast as a lead role in the Australian action film “Fists of Rage”, and in Russell Crowe's latest Film, “The water diviner”. Aside from his first love of film, Rick is a dedicated martial artist who holds various high ranks, and a passionate motorcycle collector and fabricator. Rick's intense passion for life is clearly evident when you meet him, his passion contagious. As an experienced stuntman he is progressing to become stunt arranger and is working as a martial arts instructor as well. Rick is also happy to give advice to other young stunt performers and share his tips and experiences with them.
